Hop-Frog
Hop-Frog was a revenge tale because in the beginning, Hop-Frog, the dwarf and jester with a leg impediment, and Trippeta who is a dancer and also a dwarf, were previously laughed at and abused. Then, in the end, the King and his 7 royal assembly people were hanged by chains and burned because of what they've done to them. The narrator is criticizing the fact fact that the king and his assembly do not treat the dwarves as human beings. They treated less than that. My favorite quote was: "What manner of people these maskers are. They are a great king and his seven privy-councilors--a king who does not scruple to strike a defenseless girl, and his seven councilors who abet him in the outrage. As for myself, I am simply Hop-Frog, the jester-and this is my last jest!" I liked this quote because he explains how the king was a bad person and that only a simple jester gave him what he deserved.
