The Fall of the house of Usher
The narrator starts off by going to visit his friend's desolate household. The house had a look of countenance, however it put off a melancholy vibe. The only way to go to the house is on a very small bridge which goes over a lurid moat. The narrator made various attempts to cheer up Roderick. Suddenly Ushers sister is killed by a mysterious illness. When the sister reappears he is appalled by her. In the end the house sinks in on itself. "I must perish this deplorable folly" is my favorite quote because it shows that he has the courage to do what must be done.
