MS. Found in a Bottle

A disaster from the story is the boat with the narrator in it gets caught in a whirlpool. tempest. The captains and crew mates were killed as they slept from their cabins being deluged with water. The only survivors were the narrator and an old Swede. There is a strong, unabated tempest that they are caught in. The sea was very rough and they became dizzy when the boat descended. They see a massive boat that is bigger than any boat they've seen before. The narrator escapes from the boat he was on and goes on the bigger boat. The narrator writes in the captain's cabin. He puts the message in a bottle and he puts it in the sea. The narrator studies the ship and things on it. The reason a message in a bottle is so popular is because it won't get damaged by water because it is protected by the bottle and when someone finds it they will send help. The message is good at keeping a readers interest because it takes a while for someone to find the bottle and you don't know if the person would be saved in time or not. My favorite quote is "The sun arose with a sickly yellow luster, and clambered a very few degrees above the horizon- emitting no decisive light" I like this quote because it is very descriptive and I can picture what this quote is saying.
