The Black Cat

The narrator gorged the Pluto's, his black cat, eye out, then he hung Pluto, and he killed his wife with a blow with an ax to the head. There are two cats, Pluto and the other black cat with the white gallows on its breast. The surprise ending is when the police come to search for the wife, they here a cat behind a wall. The wall in which the narrator hid his wife behind. The cat was found on his dead wife's head.

"Once again I breathed as a freeman."

This was memorable because he was not a freeman, he was trapped by his guilt and remorse.
