The Catcher in the Rye

The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger Published in July 16, 1651. The purpose of this book is to show a kid who just failed four out of five of his classes. He fails out of school. He is a bad student. One narrative quote is“Life is a game, boy. Life is a game that one plays according to the rules.” . Five important words are lousy- very poor or bad, hemorrhages- an escape, practical- usually circumstance, flunking- or failing, depressing- sad. This book is good because it shows the lousy childhood of a child.
