MS. Found in a Bottle

Describe the disasters recounted in the story. Why is the device of reading a message in a bottle popular? Why is this message successful in keeping the reader's interest? Add your favorite quote.

The disaster that they came across was a simoon and caused the ship to capsize. This is a notorious tale about many disasters that occur. The ship is breached by a deluge of waves that took over the ship. These waves soon capsized the entire ship and showed what the fate of the ship was. The ship soon began to drift and collides with a galleon. The only one to survive from the disaster is the narrator. He searches the ballasts of the ship, then writes a message and puts it in a bottle for someone to find. This has become a very popular idea because of the mystery that the message has. The message was meant to remain singular from the world and not be found by anyone. This is done to keep the reader interested and continue reading. My favorite quote is "See! See! God! See! See!" This is because it shows the hope that the narrator has in being saved.
